YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 10, 2002--The Wall Street
Transcript has published an in-depth interview with
Mark Erickson, President & CEO of Gasco Energy
(OTCBB:GASE - news), in which he talks at length about
the company's future.
The
entire 2,600-word interview is available free online

Erickson
gives an overview of the company. ``Our core area
in the Uinta Basin, the Riverbend Project, is moving
ahead. Phillips Petroleum drilled three wells in the
project, under our agreement with them. Two of the
wells are now producing, and the third well is waiting
on a pipeline connection. As announced in our Dec.
13, 2001, press release, we are pleased with the preliminary
production results from the first two wells.''
Erickson
explains, ``In Utah and Wyoming, we believe we have
solid acreage positions with many potential locations
that can keep us and our partners busy going forward.
Any additional acreage acquisitions would be strategic
in nature, such that we would be consolidating or
aggregating in and around our existing core properties.
We are a focused company seeking to leverage our internal
expertise, our acreage position, and our relationships
with our much larger partners. Our strategy within
Utah is structured around farming in other company's
acreage and drilling to earn. We are also initiating
land swaps, where we will trade acreage to improve
our position in a specific area...''
Looking
forward, Erickson states, ``The volatility of the
business has, no doubt, increased. Natural gas is
one of the most volatile commodities. It calls for
the need for more sophisticated management, planning
techniques and hedging strategies for a company as
it goes forward. As part of our corporate planning,
we look at the business cycles. If you can keep a
company strong and not over-extend its balance sheet,
one can capture opportunities on a more regular basis.''
