Gasco Expands Operations Expertise With Appointment Of John D. Longwell as Operations Manager

DENVER, Jan. 28 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Gasco Energy, Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: GASE - news) today announced the appointment of Mr. John D. Longwell, 47, as Operations Manager, effective February 1, 2002, responsible for all of Gasco's field-level operations. Mr. Longwell's 24 years of oil and gas drilling, completion and operations experience makes him well suited for managing Gasco's upcoming drilling program and ongoing operations in the Uinta Basin in Utah and Greater Green River Basin in Wyoming. Prior to joining Gasco, Mr. Longwell served as Senior Vice President of Operations for Prima Energy Corp. (Nasdaq: PENG - news) where he was instrumental in Prima's growth from a $8 million to a $190 million market capitalization company. He received his Bachelors of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Syracuse University.
