San Joaquin Resources changes its name to
Gasco Energy, Inc. and Obtains New Trading Symbol

Denver, Colorado - March 28, 2001 - San Joaquin Resources Inc. (OTC BB: SJQR), an independent oil and gas exploration and production company, announced that it has changed its name to Gasco Energy, Inc. Starting this date, the company's common stock will trade on the NASD OTC Bulletin Board under the new symbol GASE.

These changes were taken in furtherance of the company's agreement to acquire Pannonian Energy, Inc., a private oil and gas exploration and development company with interests in the Uinta Basin in Utah and the Green River Basin in Wyoming.
